Mr. Oglesby is prolific tenor soloist on the operatic and concert stage. His most recent roles include Lindoro in L’Italiana in Algeri with the Moores Opera Center, Camp Williams in Cold Sassy Tree, Uncle Vezzinet in the Italian Straw Hat and the Governor in Candide and Basilio in La Nozze di Figaro with Amarillo Opera. As a concert soloist Mr. Oglesby has performed the tenor solos in Carmina Burana with the Woodlands Symphony, and the Masterworks Chorus under the direction of Z.Randall Stroope, Mozart’s Requiem with the Masterworks Chorus and the WTAMU Symphony, Handel Messiah, Elijah and Beethoven’s Ninth. Most recently Mr. Oglesby Performed with the 2017 Texas All-State Mixed Choir as the invited Tenor Soloist in the Lord Nelson Mass. In 2008 Mr. Oglesby was selected as one of twelve to participate in the prestigious National Association of Teachers of Singing intern program. During his time as an intern Mr. Oglesby participated in a documentary highlighting the Future Artist/Teachers of the next generation. Mr. Oglesby can be heard on the Premier Recording of Dominic Argento’s Casanova’s Homecoming on the Newport Classics Label.
Mr. Oglesby currently is the Vocal Area Coordinator for WTAMU School of Music and also serves as a Master Teacher for the Conservatory Theater in Amarillo, Texas. Along with teaching at WTAMU Mr. Oglesby is a sought after Master Class instructor locally and nationally most recently being invited to Ithaca College and Oklahoma State University as a Master Class Instructor as well as Artist in Residence with Lycoming College in April 2018. Mr. Oglesby will serve as one of six Teaching Fellows, this coming July 2018, with the International Performing Arts Institute in Kiefersfelden, Germany. As an adjudicator, Mr. Oglesby has been a National Prelims judge for NATS national auditions for the 2017 and 2018 national competition. His former and current students have performed on Broadway and National Tours, most recently, Theresa Rowley as Hannigan in the National Tour of Annie and Brandon Wilhelm in the International Tour of Junie B. Jingles Bells with Casa Mañana. In competition, tenor Jesse Melson, was the 2015 National NATS winner in the graduate men category.
Currently, Mr. Oglesby serves as an Assistant Lecturer in Voice and is the Vocal Area Coordinator for the School of Music at West Texas A&M University. Mr. Oglesby earned his B Mus. from the University of Houston and an MA in vocal performance from West Texas A&M University. Mr. Oglesby has studied voice with Mr. Joseph Evans, Dr. Robert Hansen and Mila Gibson.
