-Master class and teaching session on how to technically and artistically negotiate the many demands of musical theatre singing

“Crossing Over” -

 

- Corey Trahan is building a performing and teaching career that blends the discipline of classical music with the panache of musical theatre   “Crossing Over” is an opportunity for conference participants to present contrasting repertoire in a master class/mock audition format. Participants are asked to present 2 excerpts from polar opposite selections. Acting, singing and teaching challenges of each style will be identified, discussed and demonstrated throughout the interactive workshop.

“You ave Great High Notes but little to say as a singer!!” 

 

- Ever been told that? Corey Trahan leads a workshop asking attendees to demonstrate whether their repertoire paints them in their best light. Each performers’ physical, visual, vocal and personality strengths will be focused on as well as how to utilize those gifts when selecting repertoire and presenting texts.

-A combined vocal, choral and instrumental session with discussion and demonstrations on how terminology, breathing, embouchure, and consonant and vowel sounds can be used effectively and in a similar way with choral, solo vocal and instrumental performers

-Join the presenters of the Pedagogy of Style conference as they entertain questions and discuss all things style, technique, performing and teaching

 

DEMONSTRATION SESSIONS

-Choral and Instrumental demonstration ensembles work with faculty from choral, vocal and instrumental worlds to strengthen rehearsal and performance techniques
